WINNER’S STORY
‘I was thrilled and couldn’t quite believe it, when I was selected for the “Behind The Artist” first prize, sponsored by Daler Rowney.
I have followed the artist interviews with great interest, and feel like this competition is a fantastic visual expansion which compliments the writing perfectly.
Having made the flip from part time to full time painter, this prize came at a perfect time, when funds and confidence were in a dip. Replenishing my brush selection as well as experimenting with some new materials was exciting, giving new energy to my productivity.
I am grateful for the acknowledgment of my hard work, as well as for the materials and publicity, it really gave me a boost and reassurance in the direction I had chosen.’
