These artworks are part of a series inspired by liturgical stained glass, exploring the relationship between religion as a societal product and its manifestation in working class communities.
Using vintage miniature matchboxes, the interiors are repurposed and adorned with symbols and traditional tales of salvation and good faith. Matchboxes were useful and accessible in years gone by, making these unassuming charms of protection and reassurance. To be carried around on your person, to survive another day.
